I'll overwhelm 'legitimate fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua
The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round match which will be streamed in real-time on the streaming platform.
Briton Joshua said he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the pair confronted each other to publicize next month's heavyweight fight.
Ex two-time world title holder Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth disparity - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Boxer's Mindset
"I plan to injure his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," Joshua, 35, declared.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I'm going to seriously aim to injure him. That's my goal."
Respectful Exchange
Despite these statements, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually recognized for his showmanship - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.
Jake Paul instead attacked ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after the Cameroonian turned down a fight offer.
Targeting Fury
Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, targeted UK rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul win.
"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua stated.
"I give him credit for that."
Serious Opponent
Despite saying he intends to damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.
"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.
Jake Paul's History
Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or faded names since turning professional.
He was defeated by British fighter Fury in last year.
Financial Success
Nevertheless, the relative newcomer remains one of the sport's greatest money-making draws, consistently making huge paydays.
Forecast and Belief
The 28 year old predicted a knockout win in rounds four or five and asserted he would stop the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly being planned for two years from now.
"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.
Physical Difference
As the two fighters participated in the usual stare-down, with their size difference evident, it highlighted just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the fight is truly proceeding.
