Energy infrastructure under attack in the region
The country's power facilities have come under increased attacks in the past few days

Overnight, Moscow's aerial assaults have resulted in blackouts in extensive areas of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and several dozen missiles targeted the country's power systems, labeling such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "critical infrastructure" as winter approaches.

Energy officials said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and repair crews were working to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes hit power facilities and residential structures in the capital.

Five out of the nine people injured in the strikes on the city have been transported for medical care, according to local officials.
